If your clip peaks near 0 dB but still sounds quiet next to other audio, peak normalization will not solve the real problem. Peaks only show the loudest sample, while LUFS estimates how loud your track feels over time.

GrepCut measures integrated loudness with K-weighting, then applies gain toward your selected target while respecting a -1 dBTP peak ceiling. That helps your audio land closer to a streaming, podcast, or broadcast loudness target without pushing peaks into clipping.

When you add a file, your browser decodes the audio so GrepCut can analyze the waveform. The tool measures loudness across the full track, calculates the gain needed for your selected LUFS target, and limits the result so peaks stay under the ceiling.

Because the processing is local, your audio stays on your device. Very long files can take longer because your browser has to decode and process the audio in memory.

Use LUFS normalization when your voice memo, podcast segment, screen recording, or music clip sounds much quieter or louder than the rest of your project. It is especially useful before you assemble several clips into one timeline.

Should you use -14 LUFS or -16 LUFS?

Use -14 LUFS when you want a common streaming-style target. Use -16 LUFS when you are preparing spoken-word audio such as a podcast segment. If you are unsure, choose the preset that matches where your audio will be used.

Can you normalize audio for broadcast loudness?

Yes. Choose the Broadcast preset to target -23 LUFS. This is useful when you want a quieter broadcast-style loudness target instead of a streaming or podcast target.

Will loudness normalization distort your audio?

The tool applies gain with a -1 dBTP peak ceiling to reduce clipping risk. If your source is already very loud, the limiter may prevent the exact LUFS target so the export stays safer.

LUFS is a strong loudness guide, but tone, bass, compression, background noise, and dynamic range still affect how loud your audio feels. Two files can share a LUFS value and still feel different.

Can you export MP3 after normalization?
