Auto Face Blur works best with videos under one minute and steady camera or subject movement. Clips with sudden pans, rapid head turns, or abrupt motion are more likely to miss faces between frames, so review the export before you share sensitive footage.
If you have ever tried to hide a moving face with a manual mask, you know the tedious part: the mask must follow the face across the shot. That gets harder when your subject turns, walks behind another person, or moves through a busy frame.
Auto Face Blur is built for that repetitive privacy work. You upload the clip, the browser detects faces with local AI, and GrepCut applies blur to the detected face areas so you do not have to keyframe every movement by hand.
Face detection works best when faces are visible, reasonably sized, and not heavily obscured. A face that is turned away, covered by a hand, cropped at the edge, or blurred by motion may be harder to detect in every frame.
Before you publish, scrub through your export and look for missed faces, reflections, name tags, license plates, screens, voices, or other identifiers. Blurring faces reduces visual identifiability, but it does not automatically remove every privacy risk in a video.
Can you blur multiple faces in one video?
Yes. GrepCut applies blur to every face it detects in each frame, so a crowd shot or interview clip can have more than one blurred face.
Will your video be uploaded?
No. Face detection and rendering run locally in your browser, so your raw video does not need to leave your device.
Can you blur only one selected face?

Will it blur faces that move?
Yes, the tool analyzes frames and applies blur where faces are detected as they move. You should still review the export, because fast motion, occlusion, or very small faces can affect detection.
Can you blur license plates or text with this tool?

Is face blur enough for GDPR-sensitive footage?
